Hi, everyone. Despite occasional evidence to the contrary, I am actually still alive! I even sewed a shirt for my son for "post-Christmas" (a special holiday some of us know about ;) ). He liked it a lot, despite the fact that...
a) The courier service didn't have me fill out the proper cross-border paperwork, and it almost got sent back to me;
b) On the day I was finally finishing it (long story, never mind), I discovered two identical small slits near the seam of each sleeve. I didn't have enough fabric left to cut new sleeves, so I machine-mended the slits and the result was not pretty. The only reason I didn't pitch the whole thing then and there was that the fabric is so multi-coloured, the mending sort of blends right in... well, unless you actually stare at it. I explained this to my son and said I realized he might not even want to wear the shirt, but...
He said the fit was great -- right length, right cut, right everything -- and he liked the fabric a lot. He likes that the print reads as both colourful (up close) and subtle (from a distance).
Here's a photo. A happy shirt! :) ~ Joan
